Hello December. You’re the last one so be the best one!
December is the gateway to our next season and it’s the turning point for more light and longer days, however small and incremental. December offers us a preview of what winter will be like. Given the snowy start that we’ve had around Thanksgiving I’m very optimistic that this will be a great season for winter activities.
We’re ready! Our wood stove is blasting away, the vestibule is up, and we are stocked to the rafters in every department. Our December event calendar is filling up fast!
As part of the Mad River Valley Celebration of the Holidays on Saturday December 9th we’ll be having a Trunk Show featuring Annemarie Furey and her line Product Think Tank from 12-4 and a wine tasting. All outerwear will be 20% off that day as well. Our bakery and deli will be providing complimentary holiday treats as well.
Wine tastings at the Pitcher Inn are back! Join us on Tuesday December 12th at the Pitcher Inn for a sparkling wine tasting paired up with hearty appetizers prepared by new head chef, Michael Bove! There will be a raffle and prizes. Help the Pitcher Inn celebrate their 20 year anniversary and meet the new general manager, James Parris. The cost is $45. per person. You can make reservations and prepay at the Warren Store. This event always sells out so sign up early.
On Saturday December 16th we will host a Fat Toad Farm tasting from 12-5 pm. Fat Toad Farm makes incredible goat’s milk caramel that is the perfect sweet condiment for any and all of your holiday treats. I use their caramel sauce as a sweetener for my coffee and it’s amazing!

The store hours are 7:45 to 6 pm every day. The store will close at 5 pm on Christmas Eve and we’ll be closed on Christmas Day. We’ll be open our regular hours in New Year’s Eve and New Years Day.
Upstairs is brimming with holiday delights and supplies! We have battery operated string lights and pillar candles, wrapping paper, ribbon, cards, paper plates, napkins, ornaments, not to mention an astounding array of affordable, fun and funky gifts! Mugs that change color when hot liquid is added, puzzles for all ages, gadgets and gizmos, jewelry, books, plush and did we mention socks? And always expert fashion advice and free gift wrapping!
It’s been quite a year here in Warren Village. A new Main Street, same ownership but new management across the street at the Pitcher Inn. New small businesses are sprouting up in town. New families moving in. Very exciting. Our sleepy little village at the far end of the valley is going through a face lift and we’ll be offering you many more reasons to come down and visit. Warren hasn’t lost any of it’s charm with the changes- we just got more charming! This month’s “right under our noses” pick is Warren Village. Old faces, new faces-all good!
“Remember this December that love weighs more than gold.”
-Josephine Dodge Dasham Bacon
