As we pray to the snow gods for salvation and another epic Valentine’s Day dump (that’s everyone’s prediction!), it’s important to remember that this quick little month is chock full of fun events. So while all of Vermont right now is one huge skating rink and has left us with no choice but to wear our Nano Spikes inside and out there’s still lots to celebrate! This Sunday, February 4th, is the biggest television extravaganza of the year – the new commercials! Yeah there’s a football game tucked in between them too and we have everything that you need for the big bash. Our deli will be open right until 6 p.m. and we can provide your party with sandwich plates, appetizers, and any kind of gridiron grub that suits your fancy. Give us a heads up call by Friday, February 2nd for special orders. Our beer cooler will be stocked with all of your local favorites. One stop shopping for your house party!
“Husbands are like fires – they go out when they’re left unattended.”
Ladies – this is your opportunity to pamper and keep the party at home! Don’t worry – your turn is coming! That being said, if you are planning on stepping out for the big game, the Pitcher Inn has the projector and big screen set up and the $6 beers flowing. They are rolling out small plate specials and share menus alongside their daily fare. Head down to Tracks, the coolest pub in the valley, for the game of the year! Guys- remember that great Super Sunday and who put it all together? It’s time to reciprocate!
“All you need is love but a little chocolate now and then doesn’t hurt!”
The store has a variety of cards, local chocolate, special bakery treats, and romantic red wine for your very best friend. Wines like Love Drunk, Passion Has Red Lips, True Love, and Big Love are but a few of the delicious reds, rose, and sparkling wines for that special evening. All wine will be 15% off on February 14th.
If someone’s got you starry-eyed, Chef de Cuisine Michael Bove at the Pitcher Inn will be crafting a Valentine’s Day treat for you and your sweetie to share. Down in Tracks, bartender extraordinaire Tara Downs will prepare a special list of love potions to complement their excellent wine and beer selection. Enjoy a romantic three-course dinner with your special someone(s!) in either Tracks or 275 Main. There will be a few little surprises so don’t miss this enchanting evening! Dinner is $125 per person inclusive of apps, dinner, dessert, and non-alcoholic drinks, excluding, alcoholic beverages, tax and gratuity. Reserve your table – space is limited! (802-496-6350).
Upstairs at the store, we are preparing for Valentine’s Day with beautiful new Hobo Leather bags and wallets in luscious red; who doesn’t want a red leather bag or wallet? Jewelry from near and far, candles, including a new and local line of scented candles from Morrison Dry Goods, definitely worth a sniff! Hanky Pankies make a sexy gift! New Spring clothing is beginning to arrive and if you have a special occasion coming up keep us in mind. Party clothes are coming! Gorgeous new Effie’s Heart is on its way. Winter sales continue with all outerwear 30% off, slippers 20% off and more and more 50% reductions happening.
“Truth will ultimately prevail when there are pains to bring it to light.”
“Understanding the spirit of our institutions to aim at the elevation of men, I am opposed to whatever tends to degrade them.”
President’s Week is an opportunity to recognize and reflect on the vision and greatness of these two American icons.
It’s also an opportunity to play in the snow as winter’s arc slowly descends with longer days and milder temperatures.
A Warren Store tradition is to feature Vermont purveyors during President’s week and this year is no exception! On Saturday, February 17th, we are featuring a local company Yerba Mate and their not so local energy infused beverage from noon until 4 p.m.
On the same day Anne Marie Furay will display her clothing line, Product Think Tank in a trunk show upstairs. These are fine gauge knits for year round wear.
On Sunday, February 18th, at 11 a.m., Jenn Whittingham is showcasing her amazing candles upstairs. There are candles and then there are CANDLES!
On Thursday, February 22nd, from noon until 3 p.m., we are featuring the incredible infused maple syrups from Runamok Maple Syrup in Jericho, Vermont. Maple syrup is great on its own but you’ve got to taste how ginger, cinnamon, bourbon, rum, whiskey, lime, and many more flavors redefine this iconic Vermont product!
On Saturday, February 24th, our good friends at Hogback Mountain Brewery in Bristol, Vermont will sample a variety of their spectacular brews. We will serve up a selection of Vermont cheese as well. This month’s” right under our noses” selection is the Mad River Taste Place. Our friends at the Mad River Green have put together a Vermont culinary experience for locals and visitors alike. Sample their cheeses, charcuterie and local beer and hard cider. After visiting the Taste Place stop by Three Mountain Cafe for caffeine replenishment and head over to our very own Heather’s new boutique, Opulent Designs. We wish these two new businesses and one very special cafe all the best!
“My dream is of a place and a time where America will once again be seen as the last best hope on earth.”
Enjoy this month of celebration. Take time to appreciate the amazing men and women who laid it on the line for this great country in the past. Take time to appreciate all the men, women, and children who enrich our lives in the present.
It’s all good!
