Happy, Thankful People!

It is not happy people who are thankful.

It’s thankful people who are happy.

The beauty of one spectacular autumn still resonates on the ridge lines as we move into what we call stick season. Get those snow tires on. Do we have enough wood? Can these gloves last another season? Everyone has a big check list to prepare for the winter- a reverse of sorts from our “to do” list in May. But November does have its own special beauty. And we’re all thankful that there are enough events going on to entertain and feed us through this dormant time.

This month is a PTOpalooza! On November 14th and 15th, the Waitsfield Elementary School has their almost world famous Ski and Skate Sale for the Waitsfield Elementary School PTO.  On the weekend of November 20th, the Warren Store and American Flatbread will be igniting two events to benefit the Warren PTO. The Warren Store will be having a weekend long upstairs sale and wine tasting on Saturday featuring Warren Store wine just in and recommended wines for Thanksgiving, and American Flatbread will be having a benefit bake to raise money for the Warren School PTO on Friday, November 20th.

This month’s “under your nose” selection is:

The trails up at Blueberry Lake.  I go up there in the winter to snowshoe but what an entirely different look and experience when there’s no snow.  Great biking and hiking.  You get these fabulous views of the lake. You can certainly run into someone you know or go deep and enjoy the quiet serenity of the woods. All of it right under our noses!

”You can tell that you ate too much for Thanksgiving when you have to let your bathrobe out!”

Jay Leno

Enjoy this quiet time.  Enjoy your friends and family.  They are the ones that provide the light in this dark season.  There isn’t a day that goes by that we are not thankful for all our Warren Store family and friends.  You are the best!

    Jack –

Thanks for the delightful post. As a few-times-a-year visitor to your lovely area, hubby and I always make it a point to stop by the Warren Store when we’re in the area to browse your unique selection of merchandise and indulge in an awesome breakfast or lunch from your deli. Thanks for the reminder about what’s important in life, and all we have to be grateful for. See you soon!
