A sign that the summer is winding down manifested itself yesterday afternoon when I looked up at the rose shelf and saw one lonely bottle. There wasn’t a bottle to be had at the end of the day in the cooler either. This summer I believe, rose really arrived (and went!). Not to worry – there will be more on the shelves soon but it is a harbinger of things to come. I am such a seasonal wine drinker (white in warm weather, red in cooler weather, rose – anytime!) but wine tasting season begins in earnest this month and I have the nightmarish task of trying new wines at hellish locations like the coach house in Shelburne Farms and on a boat on Lake Champlain. Time to reset the taste buds and find new value reds (and whites) for the cooler months and holidays. I am so appreciative of you, our customers, and your valued input. I take many palates with me when I go to these tastings. What would he like? This tastes just like the wine profile that she enjoys! I would love to take you all on these wine tasting excursions but know that I’m taking your opinions, suggestions, and your palates. The selections this fall (Indian summer) will be better than ever!
Our next wine tasting will be Tuesday, October 29, where we will feature some new fall and winter red blends. Hope to see you there!
