Jack’s Wine Crush

After another year of engaging in the very pleasant task of trying many different wines and hearing the feedback and drinking trends of all of you friends out there I have come up with this year’ s red wine value of the year. The criteria is simple-price quality ratio, under $15.,a wine that reflects a growing trend, the favorable response of all of you who have tried it, versatility with food but able to stand alone, and flavor and fun! After all that’s what it’s all about when all is said and done. And this year’s winner-drum roll- Bon Marche, a California blend from John Buehler’s Vineyard in Napa Valley. Red blends are where it’s at right now and this beauty epitomizes the movement. Made up primarily of zinfandel with merlot, syrah, and a touch of malbec, this wine has the range to appeal to many tastes. very easy to drink, not unlike a French bistro wine but clearly made with a California style. Bon Marche-French for good deal or great value- lives up to it’s name. A whole lot of wine for $13.95! Stay tuned next week for my white wine choice.
