Month of Gratitude

The mornings are darker and the days get shorter. The weather is temperamental and there’s no shortage of winter prepping chores that need to be attended to. It can be hard to get inspired and motivated these days as we anticipate and hope for a real Vermont winter. Over these last few weeks these kids, these families, and this community have displayed a level of inspiration, strength, generosity and grace that shows us that even the darkest of months can be filled with light. This November truly is gratitude month.
Burnie, our wood stove, is back to working full time. We’re all appreciating the added warmth that the heart of the Warren Store provides.
Colleen and her staff are busy creating a variety of healthy and creative comfort foods for lunch and for you to take home for dinner. Mac and cheese, chicken pot pies, and lasagna, along with burritos, bulgogi, and many more.
We’ll be having a Lawson’s beer tasting on Saturday, November 5th from 12-3 featuring Sip of Sunshine, Super Session, and a few other surprises. We’ll have enough beer on hand on Saturday for those of you who can’t make it on Thirstday!
The Warren Store will be collaborating with Chris Alberti and Peasant for an evening of sensational Italian wines and hearty appetizers in mid November. The event will be at Peasant restaurant. I’ll keep you posted on the date and cost. Space will be limited for this stick season soirée!
Our winter store hours are now 7:45-6pm everyday. We will be open on Thanksgiving (Thursday November 24th) from 7:45- noon.
Upstairs, we’re ready for your cooler weather and holiday gift giving needs. We have puffy jackets from Save The Duck and parkas for men and women from Kuhl, everyone’s favorite brand. Long underwear from Kari Traa, Smartwool and Ibex. Sweaters and leggings from Neve, Laundromat and Blossom Cashmere. There are soft and cozy separates from Nally & Millie and Sinuous and colorful USA made skirts, dresses, tops and leggings from Plume & Thread. Scarves, hats and gloves, dress up clothing for holiday gatherings…puzzles to while away the darker days of November and beyond. We will have a special sale upstairs during the weekend of the Ski and Skate Sale, November 19-21 with tastings to help lubricate the shopping experience. Stay tuned to our Facebook page for details.
