New Year, New News

This is the beginning of anything you want.

As we wade through the inspirations, aspirations, resolutions, and makeovers that fly at us internally and externally at this time of year this simple statement rings so true.

Whether it’s a few pounds to shed, a new vocation or purpose, or reaching out to those that need a hand in helping them pursue their vision, it can happen! It’s not easy – it takes work, consistency, and resilience in the face of setbacks but striving to find who you want to be and helping others do so is truly a noble pursuit.

Here at the Warren Store we’re very excited about the New Year and our resolution continues to be giving you the best products and experience we can!

There are plans to give Main Street more of a “pedestrian” feel. There will be changes with new businesses and new ownership in an existing business. We see these changes as an opportunity to serve you better and offer a broader Warren Village experience. It’s always a delicate balance between change and retaining the feel that one has become accustom to and comes back for, but I feel confident that we, as a business and community, will find that happy ground. Change that will be good!

We have a winter! And we have comfort food! Colleen and the deli have been just about keeping up with their famous chicken pot pies and beef pot pies. You’ll also find lasagna, mac and cheese, and a variety of other rib sticking meals to simplify your dining plans after playing in the snow. The deli can prepare sandwiches to take up to the mountains as early as 8 am. You can call in and have them ready when you stop in.

There’s nothing like a glass of red wine at the end of a wintry day. I’m very excited about a huge selection of Bordeaux that arrived last week. Many of these new wines are from the highly touted 2009 and 2010 vintages that are becoming more and more difficult to find. All of these new wines are below $20. Amazing- while they last!

We’re very excited about our continually evolving and expanding beer selection. Hop head Phil continues to do his due diligence in researching all the new beers that come up. We’ll even have a few new local brews available in the near future. Stay tuned!

Blueberry almond croissants, almond joy tarts, and key lime pie are just a few of the new items prepared in the bakery these days. We can be resolution busters but what is a good life if it doesn’t have balance?! Creature comforts, a warm fire, and good company are as important as an hour on the treadmill!

“The old year has gone. The new year has taken possession of the clock of time. All hail the duties and possibilities of the coming twelve months!”

-Edward Payson Powell

It’s a crazy and confusing world out there- even in our sequestered valley. What makes this place so special is that we, as a community, always step up when we need to. And that’s a resolution that all of us here never break. From all of us at the Warren Store we thank you for your continued support and friendship and wish you the happiest and healthiest New Year.

Hello and Happy New Year! This past summer our dear NU friends from Vermont took us to your lovely store and we will be coming back! My husband is on the Board of Fellows @ NU and usually I am able to tag along (nice perk!) in September – the reason I am mentioning this is that I just loved your snowflake bottle of deliciousness! (maple syrup) and I was wondering if you will be getting more in this year?! I would like to purchase them for my underwriters/insurance reps as their 2017 Christmas gifts! I would need around 30. I’d like to be able to pick them up weekend of September 21-24th (Norwich’s Homecoming weekend) so I don’t have to pay for shipping…. Best Regards & Blessings, Marietta NU84′ civilian
