Stick Season Specials

“If the only prayer you said your whole life was “thank you”, that would suffice.”
-Meiser Eckhardt

Simple words with big and beautiful implications. November is a month of opposites- readiness and reflection, retiring within and reaching out. As we approach the holiday season and November begins to play out and inform us how long this winter will be, it’s always good to appreciate what and more importantly, who we have , in our lives. November, the ” thank you” month!

“In November, the smell of food is different. It is an orange smell. A squash and pumpkin smell. It tastes like cinnamon and can fill up a house (or store!) in the morning, can pull everyone from bed in a fog. Food is better in November than any other time of the year.”
-Cynthia Rylant

To the staff of the deli and bakery- thank you! I’m fortunate to be here everyday to appreciate their company and their wonderfully prepared food! Our bakery will be cranking out a selection of pies for Thanksgiving. Stop by and place your order for pickup before Thanksgiving or on Thanksgiving Day. Yes we’ll be open from 7:45-12 that day.

Colleen’s deli specials take a decidedly different and delicious turn once the cold weather starts. Creative comfort and the chicken pot pies are back! Enchiladas, Shepard’s pie, lasagna. It’s true food does taste better in November!

After a prolonged and mild fall we’re now preparing hot cider and the wood stove, Burnie, has been cranking.

We’re talking about putting up the vestibule on the front door and our winter hours begin on November 1st (7:45-6pm everyday). Certainly markers that snow season is approaching!

Upstairs we’re gearing up for the holidays and what better way to jump start the season of giving than with a Stick Season clothing sale?! Thursday, November 1 through Sunday, November 12 we are offering 20% off on all new fall and winter clothing! That includes the beautiful leather jackets for men from Schott and Madison Creek! There are also gorgeous velvet’s from Sno Skins, flirty dresses from Tempo of Paris along with sporty, casual clothing from Toad & Co, Prana, Kuhl and so much more! Gifts for family and friends and don’t forget yourself!

We’ll be having a book signing and wine tasting on Saturday, November 25. Local author and financial consultant, Kathleen Burns Kingsbury will help you manage your money in her newly released book, “Breaking Money Silence, How to Shatter Money Taboos.” Kathi is an engaging speaker and we are looking forward to having her in the Store!

We’re back at Tracks for our wine tastings! In early December we’ll be having our holiday sparkling wine tasting at Tracks over at the Pitcher Inn. We should have a date set shortly and we’ll post it on our website. This is a perennial favorite and we’re delighted to be back at the Pitcher Inn! This December marks the 20 year anniversary of the Pitcher Inn so this event will be special!

This month’s “right under our noses” pick for favorite place in the valley is literally right under our noses! The Pitcher Inn, right across the street, and the Warren Store have been good friends for all of these twenty years. We help each other out every day. We support each other. Thank you! We’re looking forward to continued friendship and synergy with the Pitcher Inn and are excited about the changes and new feel coming to this iconic inn. Congratulations on twenty years!

The entire staff of the Warren Store wish you a safe and happy Thanksgiving. It can be a crazy and confusing world out there- reaching out to someone and saying “thanks!” will go a long way in our return to civility and harmony.

“It’s not the minutes spent at the Thanksgiving table that put on weight, it’s the seconds!”

 To the best customers ever!
