Whites, Reds, Pinks & Bubbles

There’s no shortage of great wine in the world today. If anything, there’s too much choice,  and that’s where we come in. We work tirelessly (someone has to) to identify the best of the red and white standards and then to uncover new varietals and emerging wine growing regions.

We sometimes travel to wineries (but happily return to Vermont), host tastings at the store, and also rely on the sage advice of our distributors, to bring you some of the finest wines available in the Mad River Valley.

Come visit us today. And if you don’t see what you want, talk with Jack and he will likely source it in a few days.

Here are several of Jack’s current favorite wines:

Proud Pour – What if drinking wine made the world a better place?  Proud Pour’s Pinot Noir and Savignon Blanc are sustainably grown and fund local environmental initiatives like restoring bee habitats and oyster beds.  Good cause and good wine can co-exist!!

Rombauer – This winery on the Silverado Trail in Napa Valley has been one of my favorite California wines since I visited a few years back.  Rombauer wines reflect the very best of California.  We carry their Chardonnay, Cabernet Savignon, Savingnon Blanc, Merlot and when available, Zinfindel. A special wine for a special occasion.

Bordeaux – When you hear Bordeaux it conjures up images of the iconic wines from that region of France.  It also conjures up perceptions of wine for deep pockets.  At the store I have found a variety of small producers who make over achieving wines that are easy on the wallet.

Fableist Wines – This new arrival to Vermont is my new favorite winery.  Located in Paso Robles their lineup provides excellent value and true interpretation of varietal character.  And if you like buying wines because of cool labels, this wine is for you and you get really good juice.  After all it’s whats in the bottle, not on it.

Sparkling Wine – Many of us relegate sparkling wine for special occassions.  now you can make everyday special.  There are so many excellent sparklers like CAVA from Spain, Mistinguett or Prosecco from Italy, Bellafina and Vino Verde from Portugal that can be enjoyed with foods of all types and offer incredible value.
